标 题: 我的热水器跳闸问题解决方法

记得前不久看到有人问到这个问题(三五天跳闸一次),其实我也有同样问题,只是不
得其解。不过最近我的热水时断时续,加热所需时间非常的长,所以还是决定修理一下
热水器。首先想到的是冲洗热水器。做了一次,看到一些浑浊物。重新使用后,老问题
还是没有解决。于是得出结论很可能加热丝坏了(我的是上下双加热丝的)。用电表一
量,果然发现加热丝的电阻远远大于正常电阻。而且上下加热丝的电压也不正常。正常
情况下,应该是一个240伏,一个0伏。但我的情况是一个240伏,一个120伏。所以,不
排除温度控制器也有问题。于是到HomeDepot花了38刀买了一个套件(加热丝和温度空
器)以及一个专用的装卸加热丝的工具。重新放水,卸加热丝,装上新加热丝。懒得换
旧的温控器,所以想看看它们到底坏了没有。重新使用,一切正常。而且跳闸问题也解
决了。

You are right. Below please find the procedure, and hopefully that can be helpful.
A.O. Smith ProMax Water Heater Repair Procedure
1. Turn off water heater power (through breaker box)
2. Open upper and lower heater control panels
3. Disconnect wires at A, B, C, and D. Measure the resistance between A and B, and C and D. The resistance should be around 10-20 Ohms. (When power is on and wires are connected, the top two wires in the top panel should be 240 V, and the voltage between A and B, and C and D should have at most one pair with 240 V when heating is going on).
4. If the measurements is way different from the above normal values, in my case thousands of Ohms, proceed
5. Drain all the water
6. Use standard heater element wrench to unscrew heating elements where A, B , C, and D reside (Use long screw driver through the holes of the wrench for better leverage. My broken elements are also shown)
7. Put one new heating elements and use the wrench to secure them to avoid water leakage
8. Connect wires, add full water, resume power (Can remeasure voltage and resistance for sure), and finally recover the panel
9. Enjoy fast hot water and no hassles for the frequently tripped water heater breaker
